I think I just realised not being too hot on GGs music is a shortcoming. In the areas of taking what I've heard of his as an annoyance in a most critical and moody way. Shame on me. Anyways...what fantastic control and processing power. I want to be more functional with my creations. I confiscate them and never complete them. Being judged harshly by other guitarist is just a rite of passage I need to stroll through.
In fairness, Guthrie and frank are on similar levels, just in different styles. Guthrie is rock with a hint of jazz, Frank is jazz with a hint of rock. Franks playing would definitely fit over this better, although in fairness to Guthrie I feel like this was much below his normal standard of playing

It depends of the musical culture and ears of people who listen. Comments on this page shows that it's mostly rock players who admire him because they do not know so many great players, and that their ears are not so developed, so simple. So they put this guy on a level that he is not.
@@anneonym7346 Guthrie Govan is a master player, just not a jazz guy, you don't need to inferiorise someone because they don't play what you consider superior, and before you say anything, i respect Allan Holdsworth as much as the neck guy, but i would be lying if i said what he played was as nice sounding to my ear than what Govan plays.
